Mural Painting Process

There are many techniques involved in both planning and painting a mural. Depending on a murals location and size there can be many specific tasks involved in the mural painting process. Paint application and access are some of the most important parts of the mural painting process that we must take into consideration, both for a beautiful mural and also to maintain an appropriate budget.

Mural paint application

Painting application aspects are important to take into account and plan appropriately. For instance; what tools will we use? What is the best method of surface preparation based on the goals of the mural? Is the mural intended for a lasting work or will the building be removed within a year? These factors will influence our decisions for application techniques and methods. Our typical mural painting methods include making use of HVLP, airbrush, airless spraying, and spray paint. There are various methods of painting a surface and each depends the unique qualities inherit in every mural.

Safety is our top-priority

Access is a very important part to consider. How will the painters get to the area that needs to be painted? What special equipment will be needed? What safety precautions will we need to take? What aspects of safety will need to be constantly monitored? How will the mural painting process affect the safety of the nearby public, property, or other environental variables and what can we do to minimize, manage or circumvent these issues? These questions basically boil down to one aspect of the mural painting process. Safety. Safety is paramount. Safety for all nearby persons that may be affected by our work, as well as the property that we work next to or on.

It must be said that our mural painters are trained and experienced in safely reaching heights and hard-to-reach locations with the use of lifts, ladders, scaffolds and more. We do work in environments with heavy foot traffic that requires attention to the safety of passers-by as well as our mural painters and we take all safety precautions to ensure every mural project is a safe and well conducted mural project.

The mural painting process is a critical aspect of painting a mural that cannot be rushed or planned without careful planning and foresight into how the job will progress.
