Mural Painting Design

Mural painting design is the process where-by we take a mural concept and create a custom mural painting. All murals begin in some form of a conceptualisation phase. It's from this stage that we take your idea and evolve it into the final masterpiece of your completed mural. It matters not whether your mural begins from a vague idea or a clear and concise design draft. All murals essentially have a design phase whether we're replicating an image onto a surface or creatively developing an idea - there is always a design and planning phase in all murals. As such there are multiple parts when planning a mural, both the artistic rendering of the mural and the actual technical application, both are crucial to a successful mural painting.

Creative Construction in Mural Painting Design

There are numerous steps involved in the conceptual stages of mural painting design. Every mural is a unique work requiring its own specialised attention. Some murals require more creative development, molding an idea into a workable artistic presentation. This is where the minds of our creative talents pool together in brainstorming creative and appealing solutions; often churning through many variations and aspects of the design and composition in order to obtain the most ideal mural piece. Our attention to modern artistry as well as the timeless classical masters is a balancing act that pays off in these creative phases.

Mural painting design is a process and not always a streamlined one. However, the process is in one form or another always a journey in creative expression. Each mural is a unique project with its own unique characteristics, our task when working with a concept is to find the best way to represent and refine these ideas in an appealing creative fashion. Ultimately, the mural painting design process is one intended to leave a lasting impression.

Technical Aspects of Mural Painting Design

It may not seem apparent but one of the phases in mural painting design is actually planning the painting of the mural. No two murals are alike, in likeness or location, so there are at times a lot of variables to take into consideration. For instance, if a mural will be a very large exterior mural we must take into account accessing the mural; this may require us to rent a Skyjack or other lift equipment. Using such equipment will necessitate having a space to park it as well as clear space to drive the vehicle. Additionally, we must be able to secure the area making it safe for not only us to work in but for all people or property in the vicinity.

Colour matching is another technical aspect of mural painting design that we'll address on occasion. This is the case when reproducing an image or logo created using a standard printing colour chart such as the Pantone colour chart. Because paint manufacturers of the products we typically use do not create an identical paint colour line-up it becomes necessary to colour match the paints. This necessary requirement of colour matching can also become a complex matter as it reduces our choices of painting medium.
